I've been offline with more blog posts recently but I have some interesting things to add to this blog for anyone interested in Rigging and Rigging Pipeline Tools, so keep a look out for that soon. Also, I plan on setting up streams that will involve tool development, general 3D playground stuff, rigging, simulation, and more. I want those streams to be casual and explorative but hopefully be informative to myself and anyone watching. That'll come soon enough.
I've been playing around with some modeling and shader/render plugins with Blender 3. I just finished watching season 1 of Obi-Wan Kenobi tv show and thought it'd be fun to model and create a quick render of Kenobi's lightsaber. I'm not that great at modelling or rendering but it was fun to try to create this little clip. I created a procedural setup to generate the lightsaber effect you see with the electricity and the deformations of the blade itself. I only spent about 2 days on this but will try some more effects to improve the look and feel of the lightsaber when I get more free time.
